A and B Grade
bands compete at Napier Municipal Theatre
(Positions of the theatres are on the Street March map below)
Bands can be dropped off on the Municipal side of Tennyson and buses should
then move on, but may park longer term on the opposite side of Tennyson.
Bands should make their way to the Asher Hall (it will be signposted) which
is across
the
narrow driveway east of (Marine Parade side of) the Municipal
Theatre. This is a warm up room for blowing as required. The
adjacent church will also be available for the same purpose. Instrument
cases should be left in these halls. It will be signposted.
From there they
will be collected by supervising staff and taken through the stage entry
door (on the northeastern aspect of the Municipal to an assembly room. No
blowing will be permitted in this room. From there they will be taken to the
stage performance area and then back to the halls in adjacent buildings to
collect their gear. Percussion is being supplied but bands wishing to bring
percussion may access the stage through a separate door, which is at the
carpark end of the theatre almost under the carpark, up a
short driveway.
C and D Grade bands compete at nearby Napier Century Theatre
The century is between the Marine Parade and Herschell Street north ofTennyson. Directly opposite, on Herschell, is the Napier Club.
Bands arriving for C and D grade events should park in Herschell St which will be closed to all traffic except buses and band minivans. They should then go to the Napier Club, where they leave their instrument cases and may warm up as they choose.
They will then be called across the road to the FOUNDERS Room, which is directly below the stage of the Century theatre. They may not blow down here. It is an assembly area prior to going on stage. From there they will be taken upstairs to perform, then taken back to the Napier Club to disperse. Percussion equipment is being supplied, but those bands wishing to bring equipment can offload it in to a marquee on the Marine Parade side of the Century via the DOC carpark.

Napier.
The airport is only 10 mins from the centre of the city, and even
closer to the Bluewater Hotel.

Those coming from the north or Taupo will come in past the airport. Those motoring up from the south will most likely come in on the Expressway, which largely by-passes nearby Hastings. This map and the next were derived from the online maps and location search available from Wises. You can search for Taradale for instance and get a detailed map of EIT. See: www.wises.co.nz
